Erikson would say that Welch was able to overcome a majority of the psychosocial stages of development, such as inferiority vs. industry because he was ab le to find a way to be a very productive member in society. However, because he has had so many relationship problems, the comment could be made that there is neuroticism in the Intimacy vs. Isolation stage where he is unable to make a concrete relationship last a while.
